In fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

I tell you this story to make an important point.

The reason I’ve been so much more successful than Bill isn’t because I’m anything special.

Bill and I had the same education. Both of us were high school grads and neither of us ever attended college.

We both came from middle class families.

Neither of us had any prior experience when we started our businesses.

And we both used to be blue collar workers. I was an Alaska Fisherman and he was a logger.

So… why the big difference in our lifestyles today?

I’ll tell you why!

Bill (as nice of a guy as he is) refuses to listen to anyone else.

In fact, when it comes to his business, he won’t take advice from anyone, including me.

I learned a long time ago that I didn’t know it all, and I never would. That’s why I’ve always been humble and teachable.

As a result, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some incredible mentors who have helped change my life.

And, combining the knowledge I gained from each of these mentors over the years has proved to be my claim to fame.

As far as Bill goes…

Yeah, it hurts me to see him struggle. But at the same time, there’s nothing I can do to help him. That is, not until he comes to the realization that being rich is better than being right.
